Vee PackingMFP offers a wide range of stack-able packing designs. Commonly called Vee Packing or W Packing the sets are made of top and bottom adapters with pressure rings in the middle. Each set consisting of a number of rings and the pressure rating of these sets is driven by the total configuration.

U-Cups Seals - Symmetrical DesignU-Cup Seals or U-Ring Seals are commonly used in linear applications to seal the rod or piston. Many different U-Cup configurations exist to properly seal that demanding application. MFP offers a wide range of U-Cup designs and produces them from a broad range of materials. Loaded U-Cups, Non loaded U-Cups, Hydraulic or Pneumatic U-Cups, MFP has a design for your application.
Piston CupsPiston Cup seals are used on rams or plungers in both hydraulic and pneumatic applications. Homogeneous Piston Cups are typically used in low pressure applications (under 150 PSI) for service in pneumatic, hydraulic fluids, & water. Fabric reinforced Piston Cups are commonly used in applications with pressures reaching up to 1000 PSI or in applications where a larger extrusion gaps are present. MFP Seals also produced a line of double acting piston cups (PCD Piston Cups) that replace multi-part assemblies. Homogeneous rubber is bonded to a metal disc, only one part is required – the most practical piston cup available. These are designed for pneumatic or low pressure hydraulic applications.
Iron Piston RingsIron piston rings are available for reciprocating or rotary applications. Our standard iron piston ring features a unique overlapping – interlocking joint design. It can be used in bi-directional sealing applications at pressures up to 5,000 PSI. The joint cut design compensates for ring and cylinder wear during operation. It has become the hydraulic cylinder standard, where high pressure, high temperature, radiation, thermal fatigue, and reliability requirements make normal seals undesirable.

Buffer Rings & Cushion SealsMFP Seals offers a full range of buffer rings designed to buffer pressure spikes in hydraulic systems. We produce a wide ranges of designs and use a variety of materials for our buffer ring product line. Most common are the BRS buffer rings produced from our proprietary T5100 filled PTFE material and utilize an elastomer energizer. MFP Seals MBRU buffer ring is commonly used in high pressure systems that are subject to pressure spikes. High quality urethane insures that the seal will stay energized at all pressures while the anti-extrusion ring helps protect the rod seal from rapid changes.
| Rod ScrapersMFP Seals exclusion seals offer a range of rod scrapers that address different levels of severity in motion applications. MFP Seals scrapers are suitable for harsh conditions that involve temperature extremes, abrasives, and other forms of contaminants that cause rod damage or abrasion. The range provides increasingly robust wiping solutions for increasingly extreme conditions.
MFP Seals scrapers are usually made of metal, either in the form of a solid, precision-machined scraping element, or as a major component of an assembly . All MFP Seals parts are precision-turned or ground for maximum concentricity and roundness to provide superior sharpness of scraping surfaces and precision relative to rod geometry.
Compared to traditional polymer or elastomer materials, metal has been field-proven and extensively tested to offer superior performance in harsh conditions. As a physical barrier, a metal exclusion seal is less prone to deflection and yield in the face of contaiminants that have bonded to a mechanical surface. Metals are free of the vulnerabilities of aging, embrittlement, crazing, cracking, and compression-set, and it can be expected to out-perform and out-last polymer scrapers.
A metal scraper-to-metal rod interface maintains a close tribological interface between the rod and scraper, preventing “over-ride” and maximizing the potential for sustained scraping. Metal also maintains a constant modulus of elasticity over time, conforming to rod irregularities resulting from wear and damage. In high-pressure and high-temperature conditions, metal increases in performance instead of hardening, crazing, without becoming brittle, or suffering from compression-set. A scraper constructed of metal alloys possessing bearing-like characteristics, lubricate the rod, as well as deposit material around the high points and into the low points of nicks and burrs on the rod surface, burnishing the surface and thus smoothing irregularities to maintain fluid cohesion and prolong seal life.
